What is PTA all about?

About Our PTA

Our Officers

The Hamilton Township PTAs are organized under the authority of the New Jersey Congress of Parents and Teachers (the New Jersey PTA), a branch of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers (the National PTA). The Objects of the association, in common with the Objects of the National PTA, are:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The James W. Alexander PTA is a past recipient of the NJPTA President's "Champions for Children" Award,
one of the highest honors a PTA can earn in our state.  We are proud of our active PTA and thank all the parents, teachers and community members involved. Because of the on-going support we receive, we continue to enhance the education and the lives of all children.
Our officers serve overlapping 2 year terms.  For the 2022-2023 academic year, our PTA officers are:

Kristine D'Ambrosio, President (June 2022-June 2024)
